Structural Engineer job summary
One of Lubbocks premier, long:standing residential and commercial architectural design companies is looking for a licensed in:house Structural Engineer. Our client specializes in high:end residential projects as well as large commercial projects including tenant improvements, remodels, and metal buildings. If you are a licensed Structural Engineer with 2+ years of experience and thrive on being involved with some of the most exciting projects in our area, we encourage you today
Structural Engineer responsibilities
:Review overall construction plans to factor in the different qualities and strengths delivered by a range of building materials and make recommendations accordingly.
:Assist Project Managers interface with building design team (architects and other engineers) to streamline RFI and shop drawing processes.
:Ensure inspection requirements and specifications meet the appropriate building code requirements.
:Assist Project Managers interface with building officials and city inspectors for code requirements and conformance questions surrounding local, state and national building regulations.
:Design connections, bracing, stair components and other secondary design elements for commercial structures using appropriate building codes and design standards.
:Assist with field fit:up and field fixes as required.
:Assist with pre:construction services on external design:build projects
Structural Engineer requirements
:Bachelors degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
:Professional Engineer (PE) designation in Texas
:2+ years of Structural Engineering experience in a construction setting
:Working knowledge of local and state building regulations
:Extremely thorough and detail oriented
:Excellent writing skills and communication skills
:Exceptional time:management
