Connect with NRG Energy on Facebook and follow us on Twitter Site Manager is charged with providing daily oversight, direction and guidance to the operations, maintenance, and engineering and business services functions within the generating plant. Assists the General Manager in ensuring achievement of key operating objectives in the areas of personnel safety, environmental stewardship, profitability, unit availability, efficiency, equipment safety and reliability in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures. This responsibility is accomplished by providing specialized knowledge and skills and oversight of day:to:day plant functions. The primary overarching responsibility of the Site Manager is to serve as the top level onsite manager at the plant, overseeing all day to day activities at the plant.
:Performs leadership duties of a manager of second line supervisors, managers and engineering professionals to optimize company resources. Coordinates work between organizational segments.
:Establish responsibilities, goals and expectations of assigned employees. Monitor and provide feedback to employees to ensure daily production activities support plant goals.
:Assist General Manager in providing oversight of and direction to all mission critical programs and processes such as performance management, outage management, project management, asset integrity and financial management.
:Assist in the development and administration of the O and M and capital budgets.
:Serve all NRG stakeholders by preserving the long:term integrity of the assets through design and implementation of effective operations, maintenance and engineering programs, sound risk management practices and timely decision:making.
:Strongly and visibly support the oversight and direction of the plants environmental stewardship effort through effective implementation of the Environmental Monitoring System.
:Ensure that safety and environmental procedures and policies are adhered to and that plant goals achieved to have zero injuries and zero environmental non:compliance.
:Support efforts to maintain effective Union/Management relationship with continuing emphasis on transitioning Union mindset from a regulated to a competitive industry.
:Serve as an effective corporate citizen in the communities in which NRG conducts its business.
:Provide leadership in personnel development through workforce planning, succession planning and training opportunities.
:A Bachelors degree from an accredited university preferred and/or a minimum of 8 years relevant power plant:related technical experience OR a Bachelors degree and 8 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
:Gas Turbine experience preferred
:A track record of success in plant manager, operations manager, maintenance manager, or other technical manager in a power plant
:Experience leading/managing a team in a related field.
:A strong work ethic, high motivation, the ability to work with minimal guidance, and the desire to work and succeed in a rigorous and challenging business environment.
:Ability to develop and lead plant personnel so that they operate as a team and utilize the most efficient practices.
