Connect with NRG Energy on Facebook and follow us on Twitter position reports the AEEC Plant Manager and works with the plant staff as well as the Regional personnel to ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and NRG policies. This role will include oversight of required programs and data collection systems, filing necessary reports, coordinating necessary testing, conducting sampling as needed, and recommending appropriate actions to ensure continued compliance with existing and new regulations and permits.

:Provide safety leadership through day to day involvement in field walk:down of ongoing work, assisting in the development of job hazard and job safety analyses, site audits/inspections/evaluations
:Implement NRG safety manual through field observations, training of personnel, active coaching of plant personnel
:Participate in safety committee activities and meetings with the goal of continuous improvement in safety behaviors at the station
:Develop and provide necessary training of plant personnel so that all facility employees have the knowledge and skills necessary to comply with safety policies and procedures. Training should emphasize Safety over Production.
:Perform/conduct root cause analyses as required to improve overall station safety performance
:Be a technical expert available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Provide technical interpretation and "how to" compliance recommendations for OSHA regulations
:Ensure mandatory compliance training is completed by Plant employees; assist site training administrators with course enrollments
:Assist in preparation and submittal, as required, of air emission, wastewater discharge and other relevant reports and documents that support compliance at the station;
:Oversee implementation of environmental compliance programs (air, water supply, wastewater, etc.);
:Escort environmental agency or other third:party personnel on site visits and inspections. Facilitate pre and post meetings with the inspectors. Document, communicate, and implement any corrective actions and/or notice of potential violations to appropriate personnel;
:Maintain operating status of all permits and licenses;
:Develop and provide necessary training of plant personnel so that all facility employees have the knowledge and skills necessary to comply with environmental regulations and policies. Training should emphasize Environmental over Production.
:Oversee preparation and submittal, as required, of NERC compliance documentation as required to ensure compliance with all regulatory aspects of NERC;
:Utilize CatsWeb and other programs as needed to attest to succesful performance of required activities.
:Demonstrated working knowledge of pertinent regulations (safety, environmental, NERC, etc.) and associated permits in a power plant;
:General knowledge of power plant systems and operations;
:Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a team environment
