Responsibilities: Customer service based role, counseling prospective students and parents regarding the financial aid process, and provide information on available programs, procedures, and eligibility requirements. Reviews financial aid applications and related documentation for compliance with eligibility requirements. Provides assistance to students and parents in the completion of financial aid application. Call center based position, with the majority of your day providing assistance to students and parents via phone, video chat, Skype, etc. to prepare and finalize their finance awards. Provide exceptional customer service, creating a positive atmosphere. Build trust by understanding the unique needs of our customers, and resolving those needs effectively and efficiently. Create and maintain a positive impression with customers. Responds to internal and external customer inquiries in a timely manner. Provides information to students and families regarding the options for obtaining financial aid, the process for requesting aid, and the eligibility requirements for receiving and maintaining aid. Maintain call productivity and metrics that are required for both inbound and outbound calls. Accurately and timely gather substantiating documentation and interact with students and/or families to follow up on missing or deficient information; relay and discuss status of application Council's students and families regarding eligibility and debt management by maintaining a strong knowledge of Title IV, institutional policies regarding admissions, enrollment, degree objective, academic progress and advising. Conducts follow-up counseling sessions with students needing adjustment in payment plans, loans, work study, grants on the basis of financial support need. Provide clear and concise debrief to enrollment partner regarding prospective students packaging status. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Required: High School or Associate's degree preferred in a related Administrative, Business, Liberal Arts, or Social Sciences discipline At least 1 to 3 years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Compliant with any school loan repayment requirements entered into Ability to listen to prospective students and families, appreciate and respond positively to their need. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of financial aid federal and state regulations, policies, procedures, and eligibility requirements. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Skill in organizing resources, established priorities and execute daily activities to achieve short and long range performance goals.
