Our Master Level Licensed Mental Health Professional assesses residents from a psychosocial perspective. They will screen, provide psycho:social assessment, and provide prompt access to clinically appropriate services for residents determined to be in need of psychiatric interventions. Based on the needs of the resident identified through a Psychosocial Assessment or Psychiatric Evaluation, treatment services may include case management services, counseling, and skills training that encompasses the principles of effective psychiatric rehabilitation.Education:Masters degree from an accredited college or university required.Experience:Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Mental Health Counseling.Knowledge of the DSM, the chronically mentally ill, and community resources.Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels within the facility, in addition to a variety of outside customers with varying interests.Licenses/Certifications:Mental Health Professional Licensed in the State of Texas. Provides comprehensive therapeutic services and completes necessary documentation.Develops and implements interventions for mental health residentsA? barriers to discharge. Advocates and negotiates internal and external systems on behalf of the resident within the scope of clinical training and consistent with professional standards.Seeks to enhance the capacity of residents to address their own needs. Utilize all resident contact as opportunities for therapeutic intervention.Cooperates with colleagues to serve the well:being of the residents. Participates in and contributes to decisions that affect the well:being of the residents. Seeks the advice and counsel of colleagues when is in the best interests of residents. Attends weekly department meetings and participates actively in problem solving and idea sharing within department.Applies sensitivity to cultural diversity issues, treats residents as an individual, and considers the culture of the residents when providing care and treatment.Applies knowledge about care and treatment needs to residents of different ages. Provides individualized care and treatment that is consistent with/sensitive to the age and life span developmental needs of each resident. Assists in the improvement of the facilityA?s service delivery.Must be able principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.Must be able sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.Perform other duties as assigned.
